Super friendly staff, clean beds, clean bathrooms, free coffee and tea, and a charming indoor pool. Made some good friends here and will definitely return when I’m in Padang again!

The accommodation offers room service, and currency exchange for guests.... I had a great experience staying here. The host is a really chill, down-to-earth guy who genuinely cares about his guests. He was very accommodating to my situation and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. The room was clean, spacious, and a great place to relax after a long day. At first, I wasn’t planning to do the trekking because it was a bit out of my budget, and we initially disagreed on the price. But despite that, he went as far as to let me set up my tent on his property for free to ensure my safety, which really showed his kindness and hospitality. One important thing to note—before booking, make sure you can afford the trekking with him. He’s very passionate about it, and there could be some misunderstandings if you stay without booking a trek. But overall, if you’re looking for a welcoming place with a great host and a solid trekking experience, this is a great choice!

Comfy beds, modern style hostel dorm, wonderful staff, very helpful, bar down stairs but not noisy, right next to the swimming hole!

Located in Lagudri and within a few steps of Sorake Beach, Nias Frank Accomodation features a private beach area, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property. The rooms are very clean and well kept. The location is ideal, giving us a direct view of the wave.

I had a fantastic stay at Salty Dog Hostel- my only regret was I couldn't stay longer!. Arif, Axel and the whole family create a really nice family vibe in the hostel and will always go out of their way to make sure you get the most from your stay on this beautiful island. The dorm I stayed in was basic, but had everything you needed- privacy curtain , Aircon and an attached bathroom. The hostel hires out both scooters and surfboards for cheap ( even more so if you take over a week ) and is only a 20 min drive away from the best surfing spots in the South. Sentosa Lodge features free bikes, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Padang. The staff are the sweetets people! Besides that the room and the facilities are all good!

Sinok Homestay Parapat offers air-conditioned rooms in Parapat. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. At the hostel, all rooms have a patio. A comfortable bed and good shower. Very clean. Recently renovated.

Set on the beachfront in Tuapejat and boasting a private beach area, Likat Surf House has free WiFi throughout the property. The vibe was amazing with James and the staff making the stay 10/10. The location was perfect for a quiet, relaxed stay. Beautiful sunset location. James tailored all of the activities, including car ride to the south, surf lessons and boat trip (including mangrove and 3 sisters) to our wants and needs. We stayed 7 nights all together- we extended because we loved it so much. James’ surf lessons were extremely in depth and helped us improve our confidence and ability. The smoothie bowl was delicious! Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Very conveniently located, safe, comfortable cool capsules, and good bathrooms with hot water! (not very common while backpacking in Sumatra). Very pleased with my stay!
