Well managed, safe and comfortable hostel. As the area is realy nice I liked to walk all the way to the center, just avoid the main streets and it's a joy.

Love everything about this place! It's full of plants, hammocks, and everything else you need for a lax stay. Host Ardi and friends are always up for a good time and show travellers around. There are also easy links to tours and activities in Jogja. You're also provided ear plugs in case you're not used to the loud prayers, but I personally didn't find it an issue because they don't last very long and are quite soothing in fact.

Objekt KOTTA Hostel smješten je u gradu 'Timuran', na 1,9 km od znamenitosti Sultanova palača, te nudi smještaj koji sadrži besplatan WiFi i besplatno privatno parkiralište. I booked this place to stay briefly while waiting for an overnight train. However, the facilities were much cleaner and newer than I expected. It was the cleanest hostel I've stayed at in Indonesia. The host was also friendly and pleasant. Next time, I'll just stay overnight.

I’ve been staying at Abrakadabra for a week and am planning to stay more. As a female solo traveler, I’ve felt like it’s my own place, having privacy and security. The host is very kind and speaks good English. He served good breakfast at the requested time and helped me book affordable tours in Jogja. The place is cozy, clean, and very close to the city center with lots of good restaurants and places to visit around. There’s a beautiful rooftop surrounded by plants which is great for having a coffee and chilling out. I could also use the kitchen to cook for myself. If you’re lucky, you’ll encounter other guests to hang out with :)

My first stop in Java was Yogyakarta, and Huma was the very first hostel I stayed at in Indonesia. I honestly didn’t have high expectations as I'd heard stories about some hostels in Asia being barely decent. But Huma completely changed that for me. If anything, it raised the bar. I arrived sweaty and tired after walking from the train station in the heat, and the team welcomed me so kindly, it really made a difference. Check-in was smooth, and to my surprise, the hostel had just opened. Lucky me! The room was spotless, and the linens were super fresh. Big thanks to Dida and Grace (and other ladies) for all the tips and for patiently answering my million questions 😄 You both made my stay so much easier!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Backyard hostel! We extended from two nights to 4. :) The staff was lovely and helpful. Our private room was super clean and nice. We used the shared kitchen with a fridge and the possibility to make tea or coffee, really great! The shared space was clean and pleasant. We used the opportunity to order breakfast and we tried the local cuisine, so good! We also borrowed a scooter for two days. Everything worked perfectly. Thank you very much!
