This place is a gem out of the touristy areas and we will definitely return. Good breakfast and great coffee that can be enjoyed in a very spacious common area downstairs. Facilities are great and very clean.

The hostel is a great base for exploring nearby Onsen towns, with both Ikaho and Kusatsu being suitable as day trips. Best of all is the staff, who are exceedingly warm and friendly, offering loads of recommendations and other conversation. I ended up spending most my time in the restaurant downstairs, chatting and trying out the various food and drinks on offer.

Tami is a true artist and has created an amazing workspace and I am so glad that I chose here rather than staying in a conventional hotel and hiding away in my room …there was always someone to chat to downstairs or I could escape and study upstairs. I met so many wonderful people and Tami San was exceptional. She cooked me nabe on my last night there.
