The owner was so accommodating and made our stay extra special. He gave great recommendations for restaurants, day trips as well as the coolest onsen. This place is a gem out of the touristy areas and we will definitely return. Good breakfast and great coffee that can be enjoyed in a very spacious common area downstairs. Facilities are great and very clean.

Ubytovanie Matoi Hostel & Bar sa nachádza v destinácii Takasaki 36 km od miesta Železničné múzeum Usui Pass. This was a real gem of a hostel. The bar was lovely, the staff were very welcoming, and the facilities were very modern and clean. i had a great night's sleep!

Tami is a true artist and has created an amazing workspace and I am so glad that I chose here rather than staying in a conventional hotel and hiding away in my room …there was always someone to chat to downstairs or I could escape and study upstairs. I met so many wonderful people and Tami San was exceptional. She cooked me nabe on my last night there.

The bed was comfortable, but creaked every time I moved. I thought it would break. There were a few sift spots in the floor, which made me think the house is on its last legs.
