The thing I liked most was our hosts, words can not describe how welcomed we felt, it felt like we were staying with friends, everything from in my opinion was great advice on lift tickets to inside knowledge on each resort, also the fact u can wax ur board or skis which was a bonus, the team at Starfall made sure we got the most out of our experiences and also made sure everyone was comfortable weather ur a family or a group of friends they meet everybody’s needs, not to mention that we were always fed in the morning, toilet and showers were excellent and always clean and I would most definitely come back, also I should mention how close we were to Happo one bus terminal and ski resort, not to mention that Echoland and Hakuba base camp weren’t to much further. I just wana say a big thanks to Coen, Jaidon, Kate, Lloyd, and Chelsea, we could not have had the experience we had without all u guys, we felt blessed because of y’all, thank you so much 😊

First time skiing in Hakuba, first time in Japan ... I chose 'Bohemians' simply because of the good reviews – I had no idea where it was or how convenient it would be for our stay. I was travelling with the family and had so many questions, but Gas answered them all very patiently. He runs an amazing hostel/guest house and went out of his way to accommodate us. I loved the diverse mix of people who were there at the same time as us – breakfast and dinner times were in particular really social and there was a lovely communal vibe.

We stayed in winter during the ski season so there were plenty of shuttle services to help everyone get around. the staff were all so lovely !

K's House Hakuba Alps - Travelers Hostel está em Hakuba, a 13 km de Estação de esqui Tsugaike Kogen e a 39 km de Estação de trem de Nagano. I had an incredible stay at K’s House Hakuba. The place is super clean and thoughtfully organized—clearly run by people who care about detail. As a digital nomad, I especially appreciated the cozy and peaceful common area, which made working remotely feel like home. What stood out most was the outstanding hospitality. The staff were kind, informative, and spoke excellent English. I arrived around midnight, and check-in was a breeze thanks to their 24-hour access system and thoughtful instructions with my key ready. While the hotel is around 15 minutes on foot from Kamishiro Station, the staff kindly gave me a ride in their shuttle. A special shoutout to Toshi, who generously lent me his crampons for my mountain hike — a total lifesaver! This is a superb and affordable base in rural Japan — perfect for backpackers, solo travelers, and anyone looking for a welcoming mountain stay. Highly recommended!

A Lucky Hostel is one of the best experience I’ve ever had in a hostel. The place is amazing, with an Onsen you can use whenever you want. Max (The manager) is a great person ( And all the stuff who works there), very kind and easy to talk to. He even set up a gym, so I was able to work out on some days. They really look after you and make sure you have a great experience. I mentioned on my first day that I wanted to swim in the lake on the first day of the year, and they were super happy to take me to a nearby lake for my first cold swim of the year. I will definitely come back! I don’t just see Lucky Hostel as a place to stay, I see it as a good friend. 😊

Acomodação perfeita para quem está viajando sozinho. Raymond é o melhor anfitrião de todos e realmente faz com que nos sintamos em casa. O espaço é muito aconchegante e é muito fácil conhecer outros viajantes. Além disso, a localização é excelente, com alguns shuttles saindo para os resorts da porta de casa e os demais a uma caminhada de 3 minutos. Gostaria de ter ficado mais e espero poder me hospedar novamente quando voltar a Hakuba!

Exceeded my expectations. The host was kind and welcoming. The accommodation was clean, spacious and felt homey. I stayed in a single room. The shared living area was comfortable, there was a tv with Netflix. The combined washer/dryer machine was awesome! It’s coin operated though so make sure you have Japanese coins, I think it only accepted 100 yens, best to confirm before you arrive.
