RoheN HAKONEYUMOTO in Hakone provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. The shared common spaces were inviting and felt very relaxing. The lighting was perfect with little tea lights and candles everywhere. Nice views of the surrounding area from the large windows. The bedroom was like a cozy little treehouse. It was raining the night I stayed, but I spent a lovely evening in the lounge with a glass of red wine and the delicious Basque cheesecake. The breakfast was lovely, also.

The host was super friendly, always happy to chat and answer questions about history and tradition and helped me find my way around Kawagoe, showed me all the must see spots, bars and restaurants. There’s also a little garden in the back and the bar area seems to be the local hang out spot in the evening which is super cool.
