Hilo Hostel ligger i Nara, inom mindre än 1 km från Nara station och 18 km från Iwafune Shrine. The owners are extremely attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is welcoming and quiet. I slept on the last floor, so for guests carrying a big luggage, I recommend to bring a duffel bag or similar to bring your belongings upstairs. Although the owners did not hesitate for a second to bring my luggage, it was good sense to leave it on the ground floor and bringing only the items to be used (toiletry, pajamas, etc). The shared room has enough space to circulate. If you prefer to sleep in the dark, I recommend you bring the sleeping mask, as the lights remain on until the last guest sleeps. The shower is good , and you will have a nice hot water. The location is very close to the train station and to the Sanjo Dori street.

Yuzan Guesthouse ligger i Nara, 15 minuters promenad från Nara station, och har en trädgård, rökfria rum, gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen och en terrass. This was our second time staying here, 2 years ago we had a great couple of nights and this time we were passing through Nara on our way to Osaka and decided to stop by again. The staff, as always, were lovely. We had a different room this time and it was comfortable, although not as beautiful as the traditional Japanese room. Great value for money with a great location, we'll stay here again when we come back to Nara.

Piece Hostel Kyoto, som öppnade i april 2013 med helt nya faciliteter, har ett bekvämt läge bara 5 minuters promenad från JR Kyoto Station. The best hostel that I've ever stayed at, it feels like it's too good to be true, the location is very convenient, if you're travelling places in Kyoto and Osaka. The staff are all friendly and nice people, the lobby is beautiful, very well decorated with nice furniture. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, everything is new and nice, the bedsheets are so clean and nice, the dorns are so spacious and have space for everything. The only things that I didn't like was that I booked it for one night, should have been two! When I come back to Kyoto, I'm definitely staying in Piece hostel, this really changes the standard of a hostel.

城崎温泉 HOSTEL Waraku ligger i Kinosaki i Hyogo, 2,4 km från Kinumaki Shrine och 3,9 km från Seto Shrine. Här finns en terrass. Very conveniently located, 3-5 minute walk to the train station, local to all the Onsen’s, cafe’s and restaurants at your door step. The staff were incredibly helpful and very lovely - they were able to accommodate our limited Japanese and spoke very good English. The room was definitely more of a hotel than a hostel, you have your own space and bathroom, and a window with a view of a temple - from which you could hear the drums of an early evening. It was beautiful ☺️

Charlie's Bed ligger i Wakayama, 2 minuters promenad från Takanoji Temple, och har conciergeservice, rökfria rum, en gemensam lounge, gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen och en terrass. We both loved how clean, practical and cozy it was. The staff was very kind and welcoming. We would come back anytime.

Guest House mii ligger perfekt beläget i centrala Osaka och har luftkonditionerade rum, en gemensam lounge, gratis WiFi och en terrass. A charming, old-school gem in Osaka! The host goes above and beyond, offering services like luggage storage and even forwarding forgotten glasses. The guest house is a perfect blend of price, cleanliness and comfort. With more than enough amenities, it's just a short stroll to the lively Dotonbori street.

Hostel Caranashi har ett perfekt läge i området Uehommachi, Tennoji, Southern Osaka i Osaka, 8 minuters promenad från The Osaka Korean Church in Japan, 1,3 km från Osaka Seiwa Church och 15 minuters... So far the best hostel I stayed in so far. The interior design is amazing and they have like an array of comfy sofas, a kitchen, fridge with beers (not free) and the rooms are spacious and instead of cramming as many beds as possible they keep it spacious. Very nice host, almost every possible amenity I could think of available and great location, with a park across the street if you like a calm morning breakfast in nature. Just a few stops removed from Namba and subway is a 5 min walk. Again, so far the best hostel I stayed in and would definitely recommend it.

Guesthouse Izame Ann ligger i Nagaoka, 15 km från Hikone slott, och erbjuder boende med gratis cyklar, gratis privat parkering, en gemensam lounge och en bar. Well worth the effort to travel to experience a lovely ryokan, it's host and the town. I paid for dinner and I'm SO glad I did. It was a highlight of my stay and in deed a highlight of my 5 week trip in Japan. You sit in a sunken seating area and watch the ryokan owner/cook prepare what felt like a large number of individual dishes. The food was absolutely delicious. I was concerned about hearing other guests because, being an older house, the walls are thin - but the night I was there all the guests were respectfully quiet. I had a view over the "river" which may be a mis-nomer - but it is a peaceful stream running through the pretty street. I highly recommend a visit.

KINOSAKI KNOT ligger i Toyooka, 2,5 km från Kinumaki Shrine, och har luftkonditionerade rum och en gemensam lounge. Amazing location; couldn’t be better. I recommend renting a yukata! The hotel staff was so lovely. Kinosaki is a dream!

Ichi The Hostel ligger i Minamicho, 48 km från Tokushima station, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, privat parkering, en gemensam lounge och en terrass. Entire hostel vibe and owners were wonderful. We would definitely stay again!
