You will feel transported back in time in this small inn. Staff were amazing and helpful with hints on exploring the city. The neighbourhood is quieter and has historic charm. Nearby tram and bus stops make it convenient. Kumamoto is a great city and much of it is walkable.

Amazing hostel!!! One of the best ones I’ve ever stayed in. Super well equipped kitchen (even spices etc for cooking), very good working desk in the lounge, clean, spacious, quiet. 10/10 😍

The place is very beautiful, very clean, and SO well decorated that it really makes you feel that you're indeed in Japan. You have a couple of restaurants and a Lawson just four blocks away. The lady that runs the place is one of the nicest persons ever and she will go far and beyond to help you in whatever you need. She even got me a nice small surprise present before leaving as a souvenir!

HIKE ligger i Tamana, 20 km från Hirayamas varma källa, och har luftkonditionerade rum och en gemensam lounge. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was large and clean. Our room was the family room with a decent sized playhouse inside where the kids play and even sleep. The building is old, but has been remodeled and is comfortable. The baked goods in the cafe on the 1st floor are delicious, and the cafe is whimsical and charming. There’s a kid’s playroom at the back of the cafe which was great for us, a group with lots of kids. There are also many ceramic wares by local artists for sale. I’d like to visit when the weather is cooler and explore the neighborhood.
