I absolutely loved staying at Momiji hostel! Hide-san told and showed me everything around the house and gave some advice on where to go in the neighborhood, made a simple yet good breakfast in the morning. We've had a pleasant talk with Hide-san before I left, and he made sure I got on the bus to the Takamori station. I was surprised with being the only one to stay overnight that day, and I felt super comfortable. The arcade machine, the room samurai katana and tanto, the shampoo bar with Hide-san's personal recommendations, the bookshelf with manga in different languages, and the two lovely cats Nuan and Riku who even have their own Instagram - everything was top-notch! Hide-san, I would love to meet you again some day!

As I went there to surf, I liked that it was close to the beach. The food in the restaurant was amazing, especially the Chicken nanban! I will definitely come back again

This is a hidden gem in Japan! Peaceful sorroudings and close to the beach for swimming and surfing! You don't have to be a surfer to enjoy it here, although they offer lessons. Next time i will learn to surf! The hosts here are the best! On my first night i was invited to a local festival, and when I left checked out i realized i forgot my charger, and they promptly shipped it to my next destination! You can easily get here even if you don't have a car! Take the train or bus to Miyazaki, then take a local train that stops right next to the hostel! (just make sure to bring cash to pay the train driver) There's free bicycles to explore the area!

Tudzura ligger i Kumamoto, 2,3 km från Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei, och har en bar, rökfria rum samt gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen. Beautiful restored wooden house with design furniture throughout the hotel. You can really see the love that went into it.The people were so kind and nice, which really made our stay even nicer. Wonderful bathroom and nice matrasses. They are big sake lovers, and we got to taste an amazing sake. Recommened to do the sake tasting.

The place itself is clean, comfortable, relaxing. The surrounding area is so beautiful and peaceful. Not many people with Many amazing beaches really close by. The people were fun and kind. Highly recommend and definitely want to come back! I think it’s the best place to experience the Amami life.

I have been on the road in Japan for 7 weeks, this is the best place I have stayed. Rooms, kitchen, toilets, showers all immaculate. Real mattresses! The couple who run it are nice, friendly and informative. I also love the little town of Akune. Try the restaurant by the fishing port. Taketa Ekimae Hostel cue ligger i Taketa och har en trädgård, en gemensam lounge, en terrass och en bar. Probably the best hostel I’ve ever been to in Japan, the staff is absolutely lovely, there’s a bakery just underneath so it smells nice and breakfast has delicious bread. I even forgot something that the staff sent to me to another hotel. Best place to stay if you’re going to Mount Aso.

Yufuin Country Road Youth Hostel har ett perfekt läge i området Yufuin Onsen i Yufu, 49 km från Showa Denko Dome Oita, 2 km från Kinrinko-sjön och 27 km från Beppu station. This was the best hostel I have ever stayed in. Very clean and very safe. Everyone was super nice and I really enjoyed the stay. Also, they had a free morning shuttle down to the station so that was tremendously helpful :)

I really liked the couple that run the place. They keep it so clean and the community room is very user-friendly. It was comfortable as a solo female traveler. It’s a great location, easy to walk to the airport, grocery store, and restaurants. I would definitely stay again.
