Couch Potato Hostel bevindt zich in Matsumoto, op 12 minuten lopen van station Matsumoto, en biedt gratis fietsen, rookvrije kamers, gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en een gedeelde lounge. Dit was mijn favoriete hostel in Japan. Het is een mooi traditioneel gebouw en de kamers zijn fijn. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en het is superfijn dat de fietsen gratis beschikbaar zijn. Een aanrader!

MOUNTAinn Nagiso ligt in Nagiso, op 4,7 km van Kotoku-ji Temple en 4,7 km van Sekibutsu Kanzan Jittoku Statue, en is voorzien van gratis WiFi. Deze accommodatie heeft een gedeelde keuken en een... My party of 5 total stayed only one night when hiking the Magome to Nagiso section of the Nakasendo. Proximity to train station and Nakasendo trail was the original selling point, but we fell in love with the place as soon as our host toured us around. It feels like staying at an artsy bed and breakfast, except you provide the breakfast and you get the entire place to yourself. There's small, delightful touches of personality and hospitality every where you look. We did not want for anything. Our sweet host met us at the front door to enter data from our passports and then gave us a walk through of the building. Two toilets and two showers was perfect for a group of 5. Fridge and other kitchen appliances work great. We listened to the CD disc player on the wall while reading the books and it was a lovely experience.The futons were placed very thoughtfully according to our parties needs. In addition to the trail and train station, there's a grocery store, a historic bridge and a cafe all within a couple minutes walk. The patios were a great hang out spot and we saw monkeys near the river around 7am. Honestly, I wish we had stayed longer but our plans dictated we move on. Next time we will try to book a few more nights so we can explore the area more!

The staff are super friendly and made our stay as comfortable as possible, the shuttle services made life so easy we were in want of nothing. They also partner with a ski rental store that collects your gear from the lodge when you done, if you are looking for a no-hassles stay in Hakuba this a good option.

The Bohemians' Shelter ligt in Hakuba, op 8,3 km van skigebied Tsugaike Kogen, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en een restaurant. The house is located in a peaceful and beautiful setting. We’ve walked around the area nearby, Bohemian Shelter is definitely the most wonderful and cosy place to stay while in Hakuba! The host Gaspard and his dad are both very friendly and helpful with guests’ needs. The dinner they offer is delicious too!

Hostel Yui-an bevindt zich in Nagiso, op 8,4 km van Kotoku-ji Temple, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en een terras. Exceeded expectations! Travelling with a picky husband and he was blown away by place. The old farm house has been lovingly restored, with lots of attention to detail. Serene, warm, welcoming. Highly recommend. We re-arranged our travel plans to stay here as it was fitting to stay in an old farmhouse after a day's walk Magome to Tsumago on the Nakesendo Way. The curry dinner was superb - we did the extra portion as 6 ft + sons with us - and it was very hearty. Free barley tea was delicious. We stayed in the family room - sleeps 5 comfortably - Japanese style and very comfy. Hosts were great as were the staff. The whole place was decorated with attention to smallest detail, down to the wood and stone decorations of the bathrooms. Fans of Manga will love the selection around the place and there were a few English books to pick up and read too. We were caught short on a rainy onwards trip and the hosts were able to supply us with plastic bags so we would arrive at destination nice and dry :) Would highly recommend.

1166 Backpackers ligt in Nagano, op minder dan 1 km van Zenkō-ji Tempel en 2,5 km van station Nagano. Het hostel met 1 ster biedt een gedeelde lounge en heeft kamers met airconditioning en gratis... I liked everything there. Probably my most memorable place of the past 3 weeks of traveling, and the level was high in most of the places I've been. On top is the incredibly nice, helpful, and sociable staff. They gave a lot of advice on what to do, and what to eat around, they like conversation, and even organised a dinner together. It's the type of place that makes you want to stay longer, and regret you didn't book more nights. The house is perfectly designed to encourage social contact, with the main lobby as entrance, and a unique big table in the middle. It's the type of place where everyone knows each other from day 1. It really feels comfy, like a home outside of home.

Morino Lodge ligt op slechts 10 minuten lopen van de gondel van het skiresort Happo One en biedt gezellige accommodatie met ruime kamers en een moderne lounge. Hotel is very good, their staff so good. Rooms is very good and comfortable.

Guest House Kura bevindt zich in Suzaka, op 1,9 km van Suzaka Zoo en 14 km van Zenkō-ji Tempel, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge en gratis privéparkeren. One of the best places where i stayed during my Japan trip. Host Marina and the team are the vibe! Highly recommend. Feeling of warmth and coziness guaranteed.

K's House Hakuba Alps - Travelers Hostel is gelegen op 13 km van skigebied Tsugaike Kogen en 39 km van station Nagano, en biedt kamers in Hakuba. The lounge was extremely beautiful and filled with a warm atmosphere.
