The owner running the place was very kind! He explained and showed everything to us that was usable in the hostel. There are multiple showers and toilets, as well as a kitchen and laundry available. For the price, it’s really great and I recommend it if you’re just looking for a place to stay the night!

The property is easily accessible both by train and car. It’s very spacious and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The kitchen is large and well-stocked with all essential utensils in ample quantities. The bedrooms are neat and comfortable, each with its own separate bed. The play and party area is spacious and has plenty of activities to enjoy. The kids especially loved it since there were so many things for them to play with. The karaoke setup is excellent, featuring a big TV and great sound quality. The barbecue area is also well arranged and includes everything needed for a perfect barbecue. Even though the villa is unmanned, the caretaker is very kind, polite, and always helpful. Overall, it’s a perfect villa for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Shukunegi was my prime reason for visiting Sado Island, so I was happy to have the opportunity to experience staying in an old house in this town. Thanks to these accommodations, I was able to take my time to see more of Shukunegi at night and in the morning, which I would not have been able to otherwise since I traveled by bus. There is a lot of historical charm in the building itself, I loved seeing the blend of modern construction with the well-maintained older parts of the house. Despite being an older house, there is still plenty of modern comfort provided— the heater in the room was perfectly warm, the kitchen was very spacious, the shower was soothing, and I appreciated that there were two toilets available. When I met the staff during check-in and on my way out of the building, they were all very friendly. There were no other guests during my stay, so it felt luxurious to have this private experience. I felt connected to the history and lifestyle of this historic town during my overnight stay here, and would definitely recommend this unique place for anyone else visiting Shukunegi and Sado!
