This is a good place even at the surf off season. The owners were nice, giving us good tips and organizing fantastic Kumana safari, which was the biggest highlight of our Sri Lanka trip. The hostel is well located and there was even a nice elephant 1-2 hundred meters away.

I had the loveliest stay at Early Birds! It’s so close to the beach and the dorm was really nice- all the beds have curtains and the mattress is super comfy. The hosts are really friendly & welcoming and taught everyone some local games! Also, the breakfast was some of the BEST food I’ve eaten in Sri Lanka!!

We had a very welcome reception. The owner is very helpful and has lots of greats advice. He helped us with everything we wanted to do and showed us elephants on our first night. We also fell in love with his 2 dogs (mom and son). Room was everything we needed. Finally a bathroom that didn't stay wet! Bed was also very comfortable. And the location is awesome. So close to the beach!
