Cleanliness at its best. The location is very convenient to both walk to the closed famous temple or take a quick tuktuk ride to the city center.

Carls Corner is a wonderful oasis in the hills just above Kandy. It's close to the city, and yet very calm and surrounded by nature. The beds are comfy and the hostel is very well designed. The hostel is social, with many solo travellers looking for a relaxed vibe to meet other people. But above all, Carl is an incredible host and a pleasure to be around. He cares so much about his guests and is always willing to help, suggest things, hangout and chat. He's also a phenomenal cook, I really recommend asking him to make some of his rice and curries, it was a highlight of my stay. Carl's Corner is an absolute gem in Kandy, and I would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.

Excellent Wi-Fi for working, excellent home cooking (also very cheap) and a great homely atmosphere. I stayed longer than planned. Highly recommended.

Compared to other properties in Kandy/Peradeniya this place is actually accurate. My rule of thumb when booking trough booking.com is to book accomodation with at least 8.0+ rating. Most places could have an 8+ rating, but when looking at the google reviews those places are filled with mold or have less than favourable reviews. This place is all positive. The staff will make you feel at home and they will do everything in their power to get you on the train to Ella!
