I liked absolutely everything about my stay here: spacious female dorm with big table and separate zone for suitcases, spacious bathroom as well, comfy bed with a socket and private lighting. The whole area is super clean. You have access to tea and coffee 24/7 and can enjoy them on the terrace with nice view. It's around 20 min walk from the centre or 200-300 lkr by tuktuk. Udaya, the host, is super nice and super helpful, always in touch and giving tips on every question you have.

Beautiful home and kind host. The decorative elements and the details really give you a cozy feeling. The room is clean and spacious with a beautiful view. Breakfast was so delicious, and they even catered to our vegan needs. We got a true local experience through interactions with the host, and we are really grateful. Would highly recommend:)

Superb hospitality, the most friendly family ever. The host Chathuranga and his mother felt like family, his mum even baked a cake for my arrival afternoon tea.! HUGE BREAKFAST, I couldn't finish it. So many delicious Sri Lanka favourites, coconut roti, dhal, rice, chicken curry, mango, sambal and some sweet fritters, I can't remember the name See the photos, comfortable bed, white fresh sheets, fluffy white towel and thin blanket, Fan in the room, my room had a TV monitor with games console but I didn't use it. 4 toilet cubicles outside, and 2 shower cubicles with HOT WATER. Another 2 wash basins inside, outdoor terrace smoking area. Wonderful views, they offered tea and coffee often, I brought my own instant coffee so they gave me a kettle. Electric power sockets next to each bed. Square pin, adaptor maybe required but they gave me one. Quiet peaceful area. Walking distance to the town, or jump on any bus from the main road, tuk tuk access if required. Access up a driveway from the road, see my photos. (Google may show you right outside a house on the road but the hostel Homestay is accessed from a driveway / slip road 30 metres before) it's just 50 metres up this driveway. Fan jn the room, I didn't use, the room was perfect temperate. It's January now. Handsoap in the washroom. Comfortable lounge chairs and seating area inside and out. The family has only recently started taking guests into the Homestay and I encourage you to stay and enjoy this wonderful Sri Lanka hospitality. I've been to kandy dozens of times over the years and I believe Kandy needs more quality hostels like this with top quality comfortable service and facilities at a budget price. If you are even considering you're options I would definitely choose this because the breakfast included blows the competition away. Anywhere else you would pay good money for the breakfast. As it is included it's a no brainier decision.

Proximity to Peradeniya Railway Station (500m, less than 10min walk) is beneficial for those staying for Ella train boarding. I was unable to reserve a ticket as train was fully booked, arrived at station 5min before boarding, purchased ticket and secured a seat in unreserved carriage, no problems! However, this certainty shouldn’t be the only motivation for staying. A kind greeting by the humble owner, Asanka, was a warm welcome to the property. Respectful, intelligent and intuitive host who creates and maintains a safe and comfortable environment – valued as a solo female traveller. Asanka was more than happy to share his expansive knowledge on all aspects of Sri Lanka and speaks excellent English, a fantastic opportunity to learn. Warmly decorated and well-maintained property. Spotless linen which is professionally cleaned. Large, shared bathroom was clean, towel and soap provided. Asanka also maintains a beautiful garden with various plants and fruits, lovely space to listen to the birds away from busy Kandy city. Location close to stunning Buddhist temple, local eateries, supermarket, Royal Botanical Gardens (with diverse range of flora – and gentle monkeys), hospital, university and public transport. Quick bus (or tuk tuk) ride is easy to access if needing to visit Kandy centre. However, the Peradeniya area had everything required. I was unwell upon arrival, Asanka was caring and compassionate, providing advice to access healthcare, healing medicine and drink in the morning (in addition to breakfast). Breakfast of local cuisine was delicious, cooked by his Aunties. Whilst I didn’t require dinner I noted this could be an option if required. Host made contact upon booking providing valuable advice on options for arrival and was happy answer ongoing questions after the stay. Please support Asanka and the Peradeniya area! And give the beautiful dog ‘Roy’ a big love – he visits in morning with Aunties!

We booked Palm Garden without checking any reviews—only afterward did we take a look and feel a bit unsure. My husband even told me not to say anything about the booking, just to see how it was when we got there. But to our surprise, from the moment we arrived, everything was wonderful. At the doorstep, we were greeted by Madu at reception, who welcomed us with the warmest smile—as if we had known her for years! 😊 Our room was spotlessly clean, very spacious, with a large comfortable bed and a lovely balcony overlooking a beautiful view. It was clear that the staff really care about maintaining a high standard.

Com ótima localização em Kandy, no centro da cidade, Cozy Nest Kandy Villa fornece quartos com ar-condicionado, Wi-Fi grátis, estacionamento privativo grátis e serviço de quarto. soo clean, comfy beds, great helpful host who works hard but is always smiling, great location, filling breakfast, good wifi. 4 bed dorm was spacious with own bathroom and locker. aircon and fan. all really good. totally recommend. only 200/300 rupees to get to town on pickme or 20 min walk. host offered me tea in the afternoon for no charge. good for solo travellers as met nice people.

Their rooftop restaurant was awesome! Had their breakfast burrito twice and think it was one of the tastier things I had in Kandy. They're more of an upscale hostel, so the rooms are clean and well-designed. A little pricier, but certainly worth it if you're wanting a slightly more comfortable dorm experience! Location is good, about a 15 minute walk into the town alongside the lake and about 5 minutes from one of the performance centers for the Kandy traditional fire-dance experiences.
