I ended up here after a really bad experience at one of the other hostels in Sigiriya. The staff were simply awesome. I arrived early and they made an extra efford to prepare the room for me, they helped me with finally obtaining the right converter, the bed I would take home if it was possible and the breakfast was great. Only check twice if the breakfast is still included in the price of the room. When I was there it wasn't. But it's still available at a very good price and it is delicious. All in all, I deeply recommend the place. And did I mention that the location is simply fabolous? And there are several good restaurants in the vicinity.

It's really a home and not just any hostel. I wish I had more time to soak in all the nature vibes relaxing on the hammock, listening to distant crickets at night and chirping birds in the morning. Ranjith makes genuine effort (and succeeds) in helping out his guests as comfortably as possible. I am glad that I stumbled upon this property. He arranges tuk tuks at any time of the day and night ! Nearest bus stand is 10 min walk but if you are visiting cave temple ,lion rock and other surrounding places its better you arrange for tuk tuk as a package for all rides instead of individual trips.

If you’re looking for a sense of luxury at a budget price point, this is a great place to stay while it’s still being developed. The location is excellent, the property and rooms are beautiful, and the owners are incredibly kind and attentive. While they are not always on site, they are consistently prompt and responsive to any questions. Do keep in mind that this is a jungle setting. If you are very uncomfortable with insects or wildlife, this may not be the right fit — or you may prefer a higher-end property designed to be more sealed from the surrounding environment. It’s also worth noting that Wi-Fi can be spotty depending on where you are on the property, and mobile signal does not reliably reach the area. This means you are quite disconnected, which some guests will love and others may find challenging. The staff went above and beyond to help in this regard — they even relocated the router to my dorm, which I happened to have to myself. Overall, a beautiful and memorable stay with great hospitality.

It was clean and nice. Beds were comfortable and because the hostel is a bit further away from the city, you can get good night sleep!

I had the most beautiful stay here with Kani! If you're looking for a chilled place with the best host possible, this hostel is for you. It's a good compromise between a hostel and guesthouse, you'll get to connect with locals and Kani will help you with anything you need as he's the kindest host I met :) I will definitely recommend staying here!

Set in Sigiriya, 2.3 km from Pidurangala Rock, Funk Bunks - Sigiriya offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. We had an amazing stay at Funk Bunk in Sigiriya! The manager, Nishan, was super friendly and such a great guy. Our TukTuk driver, Samith, was always cheerful and full of positive energy. The food was absolutely delicious — especially the kotthu they prepared for us on the second night, with an incredible sauce! The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. Unfortunately, some monkeys damaged the roof of our first room, and it started raining inside, but Nishan immediately took care of it, helped us move to another room, and even offered us a small discount. Everything was handled so quickly and kindly. Funk Bunk is truly a hidden gem with wonderful people! The famous Pidurangala and Lion Rock are close by and they offer to drive you there by tuktuk early in the morning for sunrise or in the evening for sunset. We would definetely recommend to stay at Funk Bunk Sigiriya!
