Attractively located in the centre of Playa del Carmen, SUUT Hostal Boutique features air-conditioned rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi and a shared lounge. Stayed here for two weeks and absolutely loved it. The place is new, modern, spotless, and full of thoughtful little touches. Huge shoutout to the cleaning crew and the front desk staff — friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel genuinely taken care of. This was my first-ever hostel stay — straight off my bucket list — and multiple seasoned hostel travellers told me I was very lucky with my first choice. Would definitely come back!

Situated in Holbox Island and with Playa Holbox reachable within 1.4 km, Kin Hostal and Camping features concierge services, rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace. For me, this place was the perfect place to stay at on Holbox. It's an easy walk from the center, but far enough to be super quiet and peaceful. It's small but social, easy going, clean, very friendly people working here and the tents were comfortable. I liked the common area, perfect to chill in a hammock or have a chat with the other guests. The kitchen was well organized too. Just around the corner is a little market where you can buy fresh fruits and food, also a nice alternative from all the restaurants in the center.

Set in Holbox Island and with Playa Holbox reachable within 700 metres, Casa Universo Holbox offers a tour desk, non-smoking rooms, a shared lounge, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace. The host was very helpful and always available. They have bikes for rental at 30 pesos ($1.6) per hour, so very decent pricing. The room was so spacious! Almost every hotel we stayed at had only HOT or COLD water, nothing in between. This was literally the only place that actually had warm water which was amazing! The hammock was so comfy that came with the bed. There was a shared kitchen with pots and pans, refrigerator, coffee maker, etc. She even had free water which most places did not have any. They had AC too which was lovely. It was also only a block or two from the ferry, super nice when we had to leave in the morning.

Situated in Tulum, 3.1 km from Tulum Archeological Site, Mimosa Tulum features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. Everything was great! I stayed in a tipi and it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend it! Everything was clean and neat. No problems with hot water or airco. Both worked well. The tipi has no bathroom, but that was not a problem for me. The tipi does have a sink and even a hairdryer. Location was perfect in centro, nearby restaurants and supermarkets and about 15 minutes walk to ADO. The staff were very friendly and helpfull.

Located in Puerto Morelos, 33 km from ADO International Bus Station, Hostel Humanity - Puerto Morelos provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared... Finally a hostel that remembers the word "host" in its name. Many hostels have just turned into a pure money business and have forgotten their roots of existence. Ben and his team at Humanity truly host people as if you are inviting someone into your home. The place is clean, organized, relaxing, chill, and a home away from home. Also one of the only places that features a pool that is clean and taken care of. Some people are worried that the location is not central enough to the beach or tourist areas. That is actually a bonus. You live amongst the locals, shop and eat where locals do and visit places around you with only local prices and experiences. Of course one wants to experience the beaches with all its waterfront activities. You can easily get there by renting a bike from the hostel (10 min), walk there (35 min), or take a colectivo close by for 10 pesos (5 min) When you are done after a busy day, you can retrieve to the quiet tranquil comfort of Humanity. Bonus features include a 360 degrees open rooftop that allows you to watch sunrise and sunset over the jungle, with everything in between. You can plan your own days and nights, or you can join the daily activities the hostels offers. Each activity is fun but has a local community involvement which makes the experience even more authentic. Any questions you have about anything during your stay will gladly be answered for you to make your stay as stress free and comfortable. Mayan Monkey Tulum - Social Hotel features a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a bar and garden in Tulum. The best hostel I have ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in hostels all over the world. The facilities were kept beyond clean, the whole place had a great vibe to it from the more upbeat bar/pool area to the chill relaxation zone. They had so many different activities to participate in everyday. The staff were incredible too, the bar served delicious cocktails and food. The pool was massive and nice and refreshing. There was a heap of places around the pool and bar to sit as well. The hostel was very social with lots of games at the bar to play. The bar was quite loud at night but we were given earplugs for the night we weren’t a part of the party which worked a treat. It was extremely safe and secure with a security guard and locked access to the dorms. It was close to lots of restaurants and about a 10min walk to the main part of town and a 10-15 min drive to the beach!
