Located in Moyogalpa, Rancho Tranquillo offers beachfront accommodation 34 km from Maderas Volcano and provides various facilities, such as a garden and a terrace. The ranch is beautiful and spaceous with lots of hammocks and spots to hang out. Daniela and Tony are the absolute best, so kind and helpful. There is only one dorm, so not that many people, and because of that it feels like a small family. The ranch is 15 minute walk from the town/ferry, so it is nice and quiet. The breakfasts are amazing and really good value, and one day we had a family dinner, which was delicious. You are surrounded by animals and flowers and trees, even mango-trees which you can help yourself from! They organise volcano tour (with delicious packed lunch), kayak and laundry if you need. This was my favourite place to stay on my trip, everyone should go visit this ranch!!

La Urraca Loca Hostel has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Balgue. Featuring barbecue facilities, the property is located within 12 km of Maderas Volcano. One of my favourite hostels. Very clean and common areas were great. Staff were fantastic.

Situated in Moyogalpa, 39 km from Maderas Volcano, Hostel Life is Good features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Hostel Life is Good is a little slice of paradise on Ometepe. Roman and Barbera, and their sweet animals, have created a perfect place to enjoy, have a drink, and enjoy. As the name implies, Life is Good, and they do a great job of showing that through their care of the hostel, the guests, and the overall vibe of the place.

Cocos Hostel has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Moyogalpa. There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service. Good sized room for 8 dollars a night is a bargain. It even had a private bathroom.

El Zopilote Permaculture Farm/hostel is a backpackers hostel and a permaculture farm at the same time. We offer various types of hospitality like private rooms, dormitories, camping areas and... This place is spectacular on every aspects. The installations are gorgeous, the people are the kindest, and I’ve met one the most interesting persons during my stay. It’s the first time I go back to the same hostel in my life, and clearly not the last.

Hostal Casa Moreno has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Moyogalpa. This 3-star hostel offers a bar. This stay was great for the price that we paid for two air conditioned rooms. The rooms were very accommodating for our travel group of 5 ppl in one family room and 1 person in the other private room.Great restaurants in walking distance. Staff at the hostel is very friendly and helpful. Eventhough, we paid for air conditioning in the rooms- there was also two great fans to circulate the cold air 😇 there is also parking at the hostel for personal vehicle or motorcycles Upon seeing other hostels in the area this one looked far superior and unique .

Set in Santa Cruz, Raindance offers beachfront accommodation 1.7 km from Santo Domingo Beach and offers various facilities, such as an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a bar. The friendly staff, the bar atmosphere and the good food. I also love the pod beds with privacy curtains and they actually provide a USBC cable in the beds which was helpful because I left my charger in the last hostel I stay in!

Situated in Las Pilas, 17 km from Maderas Volcano, Rainbow Caravan Hostel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. The uniqueness of the hostel is unreal. The authenticity and the little bit of magic that is here makes this place an amazing stay! By far coolest hostel. Having a nice big kitchen and fire pit makes it feel like home. The animals and the fruit trees. The stories about each of the caravans. If your looking for a vibe this is it!

Set in Altagracia, 16 km from Maderas Volcano, B&B, family run homestay, Hospedaje La Penita offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Learned this was one of the original hostels on Ometepe. Breakfasts and dinners were freshly prepared with local ingredients. Their dogs and cats were very nice to spend time with. The hosts can lease scooters and deliver them for competitive prices. Communication with host prior to and during stay was excellent.
