The ranch is beautiful and spaceous with lots of hammocks and spots to hang out. Daniela and Tony are the absolute best, so kind and helpful. There is only one dorm, so not that many people, and because of that it feels like a small family. The ranch is 15 minute walk from the town/ferry, so it is nice and quiet. The breakfasts are amazing and really good value, and one day we had a family dinner, which was delicious. You are surrounded by animals and flowers and trees, even mango-trees which you can help yourself from! They organise volcano tour (with delicious packed lunch), kayak and laundry if you need. This was my favourite place to stay on my trip, everyone should go visit this ranch!!

La Urraca Loca Hostel er með garð, verönd, veitingastað og bar í Balgue. Gististaðurinn er með grillaðstöðu og er staðsettur í innan við 12 km fjarlægð frá Maderas-eldfjallinu. La Urraca all a was a little cosy home on Ometepe. The design is quirky, using eco materials, and everything was well thought through. We were shocked to have our first warm shower! Breakfast was well priced. The bed was comfy. We loved our stay!

Hostel Life is Good is a little slice of paradise on Ometepe. Roman and Barbera, and their sweet animals, have created a perfect place to enjoy, have a drink, and enjoy. As the name implies, Life is Good, and they do a great job of showing that through their care of the hostel, the guests, and the overall vibe of the place.

Cocos Hostel er staðsett í Moyogalpa og er með garð. Verönd er til staðar og gestir geta nýtt sér ókeypis WiFi og ókeypis einkabílastæði. Lovely place to stay. Highly recommend. Rooms clean and well equipped. Family run hostel and they were very welcoming and helpful. Small restaurant on site with really good food and coffee for a good price. Central location and only 10 min walk from the port.

Hostal Casa Moreno er með útisundlaug, garð, sameiginlega setustofu og verönd í Moyogalpa. Þetta 3 stjörnu farfuglaheimili er með ókeypis WiFi og bar. Perfect location. A stones throw from the town center with the quietness of back streets. We loved the front porch and helpful staff.

Raindance er staðsett í Santa Cruz og býður upp á útisundlaug, garð, bar og ókeypis WiFi hvarvetna á gististaðnum. Gististaðurinn er reyklaus og er 1,7 km frá Santo Domingo-ströndinni. Exactly what I was looking for. Staff were all lovely, food amazing. And the Raindance Treehouse was incredible! Thanks so much

Rainbow Caravan Hostel er staðsett í Las Pilas, 17 km frá Maderas-eldfjallinu og býður upp á gistirými með garði, ókeypis einkabílastæði, sameiginlega setustofu og veitingastað. The place was very clean and tidy, tranquil, and no noise at night which is rare in Nicaragua because there's always someone making some noise. The food was quality, homemade vegan goodness. Making a fire was cool and it has all the modern amenities like a fridge and cooking equipment so you can bring beer. Didn't have any bugs unlike some of the other hostels i stayed in on Ometepe. It's quite a good location equidistance between the two towns and near the start of Volcan Concepción. I recommend renting an ATV rather than a scooter at the port and picking it up in Ometepe, don't trust the people on the San Jorge side. The hostel also offers scooter rental although I picked mine up at port. Very photogenic hostel and peaceful.

It’s a bit aside from the port city Moyogalpa, so it’s very calm and almost no cars and people here, but still easy to reach by foot from the Centre (15 min walk). It has breakfast included and it’s home cooked food by the family. My room was very spacious, with 1 double and 1 single bed. They had outlets outside and inside, so i could work online here. Ask for both WiFi passwords! The host family was very nice and always tried to help, like when I needed a dentist they found a number. They don’t speak English (as most locals here) but with my broken Spanish and google translate we always understood each other. You can also ask them about the laundry option. Thanks for hosting me!

Þetta litla farfuglaheimili er í fjölskyldueigu og er aðeins 2,5 km frá Altagracia. Það er umkringt náttúru og er nálægt Ogo de Agua, Altagracia, Vulcano Conseptition og mörgum fleirum. Learned this was one of the original hostels on Ometepe. Breakfasts and dinners were freshly prepared with local ingredients. Their dogs and cats were very nice to spend time with. The hosts can lease scooters and deliver them for competitive prices. Communication with host prior to and during stay was excellent.
