Very cozy and nice place, stayed for Christmas and absolutely loved it. Quiet place but short walk to city center. Staff was very friendly. Nice and tidy kitchen, common room and bathrooms. The room itself was also very comfortable. Not very soundproof but didn’t bother me. Would definitely stay again!

With the best location in town, locally owned On Top Backpackers & Apartments has something for every traveller! The room was lovely and comfortable with a lot of space and we loved that there was a good view from the balcony. Plus, the kitchen was fully stocked and super clean so we were able to cook on the night we were there which was great. Also, the location was ideal as you’re right by town. We had a great stay here and would recommend it.

Well situated in the Dunedin City Centre district of Dunedin, UpTown Backpackers is set 700 metres from Toitu Otago Settlers Museum, 1.1 km from Otago Museum and 2 km from Forsyth Barr Stadium. I stayed 2 months at Uptown Backpackers. The staff is friendly and make everything to feel like home. In terms of prices, you won't find anything cheaper for this quality. You have free coffre/tea + free Laundry if you stay longer. The location is perfect because close from supermarkets, workplaces and main attractions in Dunedin.
