Love the breakfast here, it was different every morning and they were all delicious. Paul is super helpful, not only he helped me arrange local tours, he is also very knowledgable of the local transportations and nearby hikes so I couldn take public transport and hike on my own. Also very considerate, make sure I have properly acclimatized before doing any hikes. On days that I had to leave early to a tour, I was given bread (basic but still nice) to take with me.

The rooms are simple and comfortable and the property is on a quiet street. Breakfast is provided in the family kitchen and we had access to cooking facilities and the fridge. We went on an 8-day Huayuash trek with Erik and the whole experience was spectacular. Erik is a very able and knowledgeable guide. He is eager to share his understanding of the mountains, Peruvian history and politics and the rich culture of the country. The food he provides is delicious and his equipment and organizational skills are excellent.

Carla, the hostel host, was amazing! She could always point us in the right direction when we had questions and was full of good advice for things to do in Huaraz and the surrounding areas. She even stayed up past midnight to let us in the first night when our bus was delayed 3 hours.

Great stay, close to a supermarket and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff, you can organise your trips through the hostel which is very useful. Bed was comfy and shower pressure with hot water was much appreciated when coming back from a long hike! Would recommend a stay at Krusty.

Situated in Caraz, hostal kactus provides a garden. The hostel features both free WiFi and free private parking. Absolute value for money, so comfortable and clean, also spacious both the room and the bathroom although we booked the smallest one. The lady running it very friendly and helpful, makes the stay even nicer experience. There is a microwave, water heater and a fridge in the hallway for guests to use.
