Set in Cusco and with Wanchaq Train station reachable within 2.9 km, Auquis Hostel offers concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar. The location is good, just a few minutes walk you get to the plaza. The dorm room is nice and clean. There is a small kitchen that can be used, which is great for a long-term stay. The owner/manager, he is super nice to welcome every traveler. I can not speak Spanish, for me it is a bit difficult to communicate with locals, and he, and is his staff is really friendly to help me with assistance. One night I was sitting outside using my laptop under cold temperatures, the owner asked me I could go indoor cuz it was cold. I told him that it should be fine, then in the next 5 minutes his staff delivered a blanket to me! (How touching it was!)

Boasting a garden, a restaurant as well as a bar, Black Llama Hostel Cusco is situated in the centre of Cusco, 1.7 km from Wanchaq Train station. The hostel was amazing and in an excellent location. The staff was incredibly kind and always ready to help. Fatima gave me a tour of the hostel and explained everything I needed to know. I also loved the welcome drink, it was perfect for the weather!. The bar is also pretty cool

Set in Cusco, 5.2 km from Wanchaq Train station, KOSKO Casa Hotel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Rómulo and Helga were fantastic hosts: so warm, welcoming, and going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We ended up extending our stay here because we didn’t want to leave! Our room was awesome, nicely decorated, good natural light, with hot water bottles delivered each night to make our beds even cozier. Breakfast was avocado, toast and jam, and 2 eggs sunny side up. There was tea and hot water available all the times in the kitchen. Helga loves plants and the garden area right outside the kitchen was very beautiful and with lots of birds! My favorite thing about this place, besides the hosts, is that you can walk out the door and be in a lovely natural park-like setting where you can walk to many nearby archeological sites. Rómulo showed us around Temple of the Moon and gave us a very spirited tour, which was a highlight. It’s a really fun walk into town on the Inca Trail and down a pedestrian stairway lined with restaurants— even though it’s “far” from the city center, it’s actually a very nice walk to get into town, along peaceful paths with no cars! On the day we left, Rómulo drove us into town, along with 2 groups of other guests, and helped us exchange money, get an oil change, find the right entrance to a museum, etc. He took care of all of us and helped us along our way. Incredible hosting!

Situated 36 km from Huayna Picchu, Salkantay Hostel Chaullay offers 3-star accommodation in Santa Teresa and has a garden, a restaurant and a bar. The host Manuel was kind, the room was perfect and the dinner and breakfast tasty.

Featuring a terrace, Eco Aventura Hostel Cusco is located in the centre of Cusco, 2 km from Wanchaq Train station. The hostel manager is a lovely lady who goes above and beyond to accommodate all your needs. The place felt like home every time we returned and that says a lot. Definitely recommended for solo travelers who need a local by their side.

Very warm and helpful hosts who made me feel like at home. Basic but cozy and clean room. Privacy and quietness. Location was good, 5 mins away from Mercado Central.

The accommodation is extremely well maintained and beautifully set within restored historic walls right in the center of Cusco. I could walk everywhere which made exploring the city very easy. The check in process was flexible and smooth, and I received many excellent local recommendations that made my stay even better. The hosts were exceptionally attentive and friendly. They took real time to help with every question and made me feel genuinely welcomed. Casa Terra is a place with great character, comfort and warm hospitality. I would happily stay here again and can recommend it without hesitation.

Sacred Valley Mystic Tribe - Community Life has free bikes, fitness centre, a garden and shared lounge in Pisac. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a terrace. We came with a group of friends and honestly had the best time. The views are insane, and the vibe is super chill. We did a hike and managed to enter some ruins without even needing a ticket which was wild. Also did a Temazcal and a ceremony giving thanks to Pachamama really beautiful experience, something different. Everyone was super welcoming, we felt at home right away. Definitely a spot to come back to.
