Our guide Flavio and driver Emanuel really went above and beyond to show us everything when it comes to the wildlife in Amazon, he even went back looking for my sunglasses that I managed to loose on our walking tour. We were lucky to see everything from Pink river dolphins, sloths, monkeys, capybaras, caymans and a lot more. The food was very good and healthy. The rooms were comfortable and we really loved the hammocks that were on the balcony, perfect to relax there between adventures in the Amazon.

I’ve stayed one week in the wonderful Guacamayo Azul integrating my journeys in the jungle, and seriously, I have no words how amazing this place is! The house is luxurious, huge comfortable main bedroom, fully equipped kitchen where I felt I could cook as if I was back home. The pool is another sort of privilege; calm and safe location, comparing to the rest of Iquitos. Julio, the housekeeper, would help me with absolutely everything I needed - driving me to do buy groceries, help around the house, even accompanying me to explore the local area’s gems so I don’t feel uncomfortable as a solo female traveler. A special thanks to him! The house is massive and would fit a company up to 8 people, but also it’s an incredible stay for a solo person, who seeks quietness and solitude, like in my case. I truly appreciate my time in Guacamayo Azul, and it only leaves me to wonder why it’s not yet fully booked. I wish you that!

Featuring free satellite internet,, Hospedaje Neydita offers accommodation in Iquitos.It is set in Plaza Sargento Lores, 600 metres away from the Plaza Principal and 5 minutes by car from the... I had a good stay at Hospedaje Neydita. The rooms were clean and simple. The owner arranged a tuk tuk driver to take me to Belen Market and he was great. There is also a kitchen to use with drinkable filtered water which is nice. I like they had quite hour between 10pm and 8am so was able to sleep well.
