Our 3 bedrooms are adorned with lavish buttery soft French linens - a dream to sleep in all year round. The Master is a spacious queen room with large antique windows. A further queen room and king single room are found perched beautifully under our 19th century dorma windows. Please advise us your bedding requirements upon booking so we can cater to your needs. If you love to cook, or simply enjoy swooning over your other half while they whip up your next meal, we have a fully equipped country kitchen with everything you need to make the most of Tasmania’s incredible produce. Your morning coffee is sorted in all the ways your heart could desire, with locally roasted coffee beans, an espresso maker and grinder on hand. There are numerous spaces to put your feet up and read or simply watch the world go by. Along with a space for those who need to keep the world turning, thats if you can get any work done with hobart at your disposal. The gardens at the lodge are something truly special, sprawling and spacious.

My partner Arianne and I moved to Tasmania from the mainland in 2021 in search of the good life. Boy did we find it! We became the custodians of the heritage Gatekeepers Lodge in 2022. With a love for all things old and unique, we set out to provide an experience. Not just a roof over your heads. We poured our souls into the Lodge to create something special that we can share with you all. We are available for anything you may need. We are local and pride ourselves on offering a personal, boutique service as the lodge is our only accomodation offering. Lenah Valley is situated in the foothills of Mount Wellington, just north of the CBD, walking distance to the culinary delights of north hobart but out of the hustle and bustle, where you'll find a more peacefull side of Hobart life . With a bus stop 20 metres from our front door, you can get around town with ease A beautiful quiet northern suburb, close to all the amenities you could require. Only a short trip into the city, or 10 minutes north to MONA. Lenah Valley was originally known as Kangaroo Bottom, later Kangaroo Valley and Sassafras Valley. The driveway accommodates one car and there is some street parking available which is un-metered We have a bus stop right out front which will get you onto the main run into town. There is a local grocer a few hundred metres up the road (Hill street Grocer) along with a liquor store, cafes and local amenities in the opposite direction.
