M/S Carpe-Diem, "Seize-the-Day", is a barge built in 1951 at shipyard De Wachter, Boom, Belgium. The ship is moored in the old docklands of the medieval city of Ghent and has been transformed into an exceptional, eco-friendly home with two completely separated residences: 1/ The ship's deck house (Dutch: "roef") has been completely renovated into a comfortable, modern studio of 30 square meters. The deck house has a living/bed room, kitchen, separate bathroom with toilet and shower, as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer. The studio is fully furnished - ready to move in! Ideal for tourists and expatriate professionals. 2/ The ship's cargo hold (Dutch: "ruim") has been transformed into a contemporary, loft-like residence of 65 square meters, with all modern comfort, including a heated outdoor pool with jet stream. The cargo hold accommodates maximum 4 people, with two separate bedrooms with double beds. The loft is fully furnished - ready to move in! Ideal for tourists and expatriate professionals. Hello, I am Filip, father of two beautiful daughters and husband of an exceptional wife. A few years ago we bought an old ship - actually in a flash of absolute lack of sense of reality.
