The location of the hotel is very good. It's close to Iguazu Falls, the main tourist place to visit and Parque das Aves. It's also close to the wax museum and shopping mall. The breakfast is good. The room is charming and cozy.

this resort hotel is a one level kinda resort. all rooms are on ground level and the compound is huge. it’s spacious though and bed was ok. breakfast spread i’d say is pretty good. location wise it’s a standalone not near any place within walking distance. uber your way around. not too far from airport, iguacu or a nearby mall. staffs were great.

To be honest, I was not expecting too much from this hotel as it was a very good price but it far exceeded my expectations. The staff were very friendly and helpful - particularly the receptionists and the young man who ran the pool bar. The pool area on the roof was relatively small but definitely worth a visit - we found it very relaxing after a long day. The rooms were spotlessly clean with good facilities and a good size too. The location was perfect - it was in the centre close to the friendship bridge (Ponte da Amizade) between Brazil and Paraguay. We did venture out of the hotel briefly to a local pharmacy and the area felt safe and was relatively clean.

Brazilian Gateway to the Iguaçu Falls

One of the most popular touristic destinations in Brazil, Foz do Iguaçu is located on the Brazilian side of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Iguaçu Falls. Lying on the triple frontier between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, it also offers the Parque das Aves (Birds Park), the Itaipú Dam, and access to cheap shopping in the Paraguayan tax-free city of Ciudad del Este.

The word Iguaçu derives from the native Guaraní language, meaning “big water”. The spectacular falls are part of the natural frontier between Argentina and Brazil, and comprise 275 individual falls spread over 3 km in both countries, with a maximum height of 80 metres. Its water flow can be three times that of the Niagara.

Starting as a small village, Foz grew thanks to the flow of tourists, the construction of the bridges linking to Paraguay and Argentina, and the works on the Itaipú Dam and Hydroelectric Plant. Some of the best hotels in Foz do Iguaçu are located along the road linking to the national park. Nonetheless, most Foz do Iguaçu hotels are located in and around the central area.

    3 days to see both sides of the waterfalls and to enjoy the...

    3 days to see both sides of the waterfalls and to enjoy the regions other attractions is a little short. Especially with the wait times to cross the border. We did 4 border crossings in 3 days and it was painful. It consumed too much time. To see both sides of the waterfalls and to do one or two other activities and give enough time to relax and enjoy a resort/hotel you really need at least 4 days. Lastly, prepare for crowds or people at the Falls and very long wait times everywhere. Also careful with the parks guides. They're sales people for the tours and will lie to sell you a ticket.

    It is a magical place.

    It is a magical place. We could have stood for hours watching the water thunder over the edge. The nature reserves both on the Brazil and Argentinian side are wonderful. Plenty to do there, short walks to explore the falls and good options for food. We spent 2 days there, one on the Argentinian side and one on the Brazilian side. Both hade their own charms. Highly recommend the boat trip to and under the falls. It's thrilling. Note: one is taken under one of the smaller falls, and can see the main falls only from a distance. I don't think it is possible to get up close to the main falls by boat. But even going under a smaller fall was absolutely thrilling, one could feel the power of nature.

    The falls and the bird park are the big attractions for a good reason. This was our second time, and everything was easier this time than a few years earlier. We were able to catch a local bus to the bird park, and Ubers to and from Rafaín for that marvelous buffet and folkloric show, a highlight not to be missed. Yes, the place is of high tourism, with increasing development of resorts, but still attractive for the less resort-minded visitors.

    Lovely you don't need a tour unless you are going to do a boat tour. Buy your tickets in advance, just easier that way. You don't need a rain poncho unless it's chilly, if it's hot and you don't mind getting wet everything will dry within an hour. It's refreshing in the summer!

    I agree with those who recommend doing the Argentina and the Brazilian Falls on different days. I would suggest doing the Bird Park and Brazilian falls on day one and then the Argentina side. The Argentina side is a long day, especially when it is hot as it was for us. Argentina side is more impressive than the Brazilian side. Wish we could have spent another day in Foz to see some other sites. We really enjoyed the Latin Dance and dinner show on our last night.

    The bird park was extraordinary and certainly worth a long visit. It needs at least 3 hours to see properly. The Falls are magnificent and awe-inspiring and a must-see. The boat trip under the fallls is exhilerating and I would definitely do that again

    Perfect location if you are visiting Iguacu Falls. I landed at the airport at 11am, checked into the hotel (and taken to my room) by 11:20am, and made it into the park for the falls by 11:30am. Fast and efficient. Great pool and jacuzzis. Fantastic breakfast. Incredible cocktails at the pool as well as inside at the bar.
