Herzkammer ( chamber of the heart ) Art and lifestyle come together in “Herzkammer”. The apartment is strongly influenced by its owner Konrad Winzer – a sculptor and award-winning restaurateur. So you will find larger-than-life sculptures around the house, and the way to the first floor apartment leads you through the artist’s studio. Then you stand in the heart of the apartment, a large room under the roof of 1719 that houses the kitchen, dining room and library. The cooking happens at an old Italian iron stove (in addition, there are two gas burners), and the dishes are washed in an stone trough from Alsace. You can eat at the long wooden table while the fire crackles in the fireplace. A steep staircase leads to the open living room and a roof terrace with fantastic views of the Rhine valley.

The Herzkammer is located in the border triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland. In 20 minutes you reach the centre of the Swiss Basle and the French border. Culture: museums (Vitra Design Museum, Beyeler Museum), exhibitions and concerts.
