Døssinghus offers cozy and comfortable accommodation in Knudstrup, located in the heart of Central Jutland between Viborg, Silkeborg and Ikast. This is no luxury but the apartments have everything you need! Please note this is an OLD house with its quirks and charms that follows with an old house. So do not expect a modern apartment. There is no big screen TV, no spa, no access to outdoor area or garden, no luxury... But it is located in a small village in the heart of Jutland with authentic village settings and neighbors including chickens and a rooster. But the apartment are a central place to sleep while exploring the nearby areas. It is ideal for hikers and bicyclists as Hærvejen (the ancient traderoute also called Ochenweg) passes close by (only 1 km). Here you can stay in furnished apartments with historical details. You can stay overnight on your hike, after visiting family and friends in the area, or after a event at Boxen in Herning, or as a craftsman for a longer period of time. Døssinghus was built in 1861 and renovated in 1964. The house is located in the center of the village of Knudstrup and is a piece of local history. Many of the neighboring properties are subdivided from this very farm. We have three apartments in Døssinghus, named after the three kings Svend, Knud and Valdemar who in 1157 fought to become the sole king of Denmark. At Døssinghus all apartments are different. You can choose between the 3 different apartments that all furnished individually with inspiration the from the local history. All our apartments are non-smoking. All apartments have their own bathroom with shower and kitchen with stove, oven and fridge and have the essentials for your stay OBS! We have just finished renovating the heating system. But the hallway and back courtyard still is under renovation. We expect to be able to finish by spring and will have added an outdoor area.
