The coastline of Pilar de la Hordada is more than 4 kms long with the most amazing scenery. The transparent waters and good visibility invite sub-aqua divers to go and observe the variety of life sustained by the sandy sea-bed. There are blue flag beaches, Las Higuericas, El Conde, Jesuitas and Mil Palmeras all with different activities at each one. At Jesuitas beach, have a go at volleyball, sail from El Puerto Beach or take the kids crabbing at La Villas Beach, there is something here for everyone. If your a golfer then this is a golf lovers paradise with many championship golf courses all within a 30 minute drive. The fabulous Lo Romero golf course with the infamous 18th hole island green is only 5km away. The course was designed by Dave Thomas, one of the most prestigious European golf designers. If you like walking then visit the Río Seco riverbed and chose 1 of 2 routes - 4 kms long and the other 10kms stretching from the natural area in Pinar de Campoverde to the mouth on the beach of Mil Palmeras. By bike is the best way to explore the area with more than 30km of cycling lanes along the town.
