The origin of La Xiquella is the cheese atelier that we have in the country house where we produce craft cheeses made from raw milk from cow and sheep. Later we decided to open the rural accommodation in the same farmhouse where we live and work.

The farmhouse is surrounded by forests, rivers, volcanoes, farms, crops ... and many other unforgettable places and landscapes that you will discover if you have a few days with us in the Vall d'en Bas.

The municipality of Vall d'en Bas forms a first-class geographical and landscape unit. Sawdusts, lined with carrots like those of Cabrera dels Llancers, Freixaneda or Puigsacalm, surround meadows and forests of beech, oaks and holm oaks until they reach the plain of Bas. A plain that has one of the most fertile soil in Catalonia. Meanwhile, a crowd of streams flow through the plain, pouring its water into the Fluvià river, after it has formed by jumping from the summits of Falgars.
