La Orotava is an experience; known for its cobbled steep streets and colorful houses, as if time stood still. One of the oldest parts of the island, en-route to become a unesco world heritage. You’ll find many small restaurants, coffee shops and shops just around the corner. At a 15 minute drive there is the local zoo Loro Parque in a beautiful green setting. With next to it a beach and several fish restaurants. Puerto de la Cruz has an old part, but also an new tourist area with bars, pubs, and shopping. Drive around and you’ll see the bananas hanging, drive up to the volcano and be surprised by the mars-like landscape with stunning views. It’s only an hours drive to the south of Tenerife, with all the famous tourist towns, water parks, dolphin and whale spotting tours and etcetera.
