This property is our family-owned log cottage by the Rikkavesi lake. It is a very peaceful place with natural sand beach. Water is shallow and gets deeper only smoothly which is very good for children. This lake is one of the cleanest in Finland. Cottage provides in both floors wide open space, so there are no walls separating. Bedroom has a balcony and offers one double bed, second double bed consists of two separate beds. Bed linen (bed sheets, blanket sheet and pillow covers) you need to bring with you, they are not provided from our side. Mattresses, pillows and blankets are available. Running water is available in the kitchen from well. It is perfectly fine and useable for dish washing, but not recommended for drinking as it is not checked by regular communal quality inspections. Bring your own water for drinking with you. Mosquito killers are mounted to cottage. Sauna is located in an extra building at the same property. Sauna provides wooden stove, there is no running water available in the Sauna. Firewood is available free of charge. There is a summer kitchen and a grill place located in the yard. This property does not provide a WC, but there is a bio compost toilet.

As there is no running water available except from the kitchen, there is no shower or sink available. Washing, brushing teeth happens outside next to Sauna. Rowing boat is available free of charge during your stay, also a 5hp outboard engine is available. (gasoline not included) Lifejackets are available for 5-6 person. Common waste/trash bin can be found in village. Parking lot has space for a camper, electricity is included in rent. There is no public transport near close by - you will need a car or any other transportation. This place is perfect for persons who are used to be lonely in nature and who enjoy peace and privacy at basic standard.Old mine can be visited in Outokumpu city centrum. Children fishing place is nice place to visit. At Marketplace in Outokumpu you can find local farmers products. This old mining town has rich wooden houses heritage and you can feel and see the place where Finland mining industry started. Also you can visit children mine playground, eat in mining restaurant and visit in mining museum. Golf court is located in Outokumpu as well. Small town atmosphere is a bit sleepy , but you can find basic services, shops, bakery and gas station.
