This 3 bedroom renovated Grade II listed cottage is in the heart of Cornwall close to St Ives and Carbis Bay. It has exposed granite walls, timber beams and an original Cornish range. The cottage is ideal for a family holiday. It is at one end of a terrace of three traditional Cornish cottages, with a large private south facing garden, laid to lawn, with views over the rural Cornish countryside. With accommodation for six laid out as two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, and a family bathroom there’s plenty of space for everyone.
I'm a keen surfer and I bought this cottage in 1984 because it's so close to the fantastic surf beaches on both north and south coasts at Hayle, Gwithian, Praa Sands, St Ives etc. Over the years I've hugely extended the cottage and I still visit myself every year.
St.Erth is a charming Cornish village in a quiet rural setting on the River Hayle. The perfect base for your holiday in Cornwall, St.Erth offers easy access to many famous local attractions. The village has all the amenities you’ll need during your stay, including a post office, general store and The Star Inn, popular for meals and real ales. Other facilities are on-hand in nearby Hayle. St.Erth is only a few minutes off the main A30, giving easy access to all areas of West Cornwall. St Ives is only 4 miles away and Penzance 7 miles. Local attractions in and around St.Erth include: • A trout fishing lake • 18 hole golf course at Lelant, St.Ives • A mini golf course, with a driving range; • A go-cart track; • Bird watching at the RSPB Hayle Estuary Reserve; • Delightful country, river and coastal walks. Hayle is just over 2 miles from St.Erth and is famous for it’s three miles of golden sands. St.Ives, Helston, Marazion and Penzance are nearby. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are within an hours drive. The renowned scenic coastal railway branch line runs regular trains to St.Ives. St.Erth station is a 25 minute walk from the cottage.
