Whether it’s just an overnight stay and breakfast, or you want to try our healing wellness treatments, you’ve found a new home from home. The retreat is perched on top of a hill, offering breath-taking views of the Scottish Highlands. You'll find yourself surrounded by nature, with a murmuring stream and 1.5 acres of enchanting fairy-tale gardens filled with vibrant flowers and wildlife. Our historic mill-turned-farmhouse is now a haven for tranquillity. We offer various treatments and classes to nurture physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing. These can be booked for an additional fee and include Alexander Technique for deep relaxation and for soothing aches & pains, 1-to-1 meditation classes, sound baths, and yoga tuition. There is a shared dining space and lounge area with log fire and coffee/tea station where you can help yourself to a cup of something, water, biscuits and fruit. Vegetarian breakfast included: Royal scrambled eggs (made with a secret recipe from the kitchens of Windsor Castle), mushrooms, home-baked baguette, cereals, yoghurt, coffee, tea. PLEASE NOTE: As we host people on a journey of healing and quiet introspection, we request the ALL our guests REFRAIN from DRINKING ALCOHOL and from taking recreational drugs on the premises during their stay. Dan and Thomas co-run the Awakening Alchemy Retreat Centre. Thomas is an accomplished Ayurvedic and Holistic Health Practitioner with over three decades of experience. Before opening Awakening Alchemy Retreat Centre with Dan, he ran his own successful clinic in central London where he helped clients, including celebrities and royalty, to achieve profound wellness transformations. After suffering serious burnout and chronic back pain while working in the corporate sector, Dan discovered the Alexander Technique, which transformed his life and inspired him to become a practitioner to help others heal and discover their potential for physical and emotional freedom and balance. He now provides Alexander Technique sessions to our retreat and bed & breakfast guests.

Just a stone's throw from the Midmar Kirk Stone Circle, and a short drive from other stone circles, our guests can immerse themselves in the rich prehistoric heritage that graces this land. We are a 30-minute drive to the Cairngorms National Park, close by Balmoral and Braemar, the royal centre of the Highland Games, and only 28 miles from Lecht Ski Centre. Additionally, being only 30 minutes from Aberdeen City and its airport, the retreat offers easy accessibility. Aberdeen, a vibrant city known for its maritime history and cultural scene, is just a short flight away from major UK cities - 1.5 hours from London, 1 hour from Manchester, and 1 hour from Birmingham.
