Garras is a small hamlet just 5 miles from Helford village and close to other key villages such as Coverack, St. Keverne, Gunwalloe and The Lizard. Banneth offers classic and luxurious accommodation with two double rooms and two single rooms all of which have very pretty outlooks onto the gardens around the house where children can play safely. The living room has an open fire and the dining room a traditional wood burner, perfect for snuggling up when taking an out of season break. Banneth is within walking distance of Mawgan and the local village shop for all essentials, as well as The Ship Inn for great food and real ale. Helford is a picturesque village on the south side of the Helford River. Helford is very popular with its thatched cottages, excellent village stores and especially The Shipwrights Arms, right on the edge of the creek with its waterside terrace. Just a short walk away is Frenchman’s Creek, immortalised by Daphne du Maurier. The Helford River Sailing Club is very popular and a regatta is held every August. In the summer a passenger ferry runs to Helford passage, the home of the Ferryboat Inn, and nearby to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan. The wildlife on the Helford River is diverse and a birdwatcher’s paradise.
