A stay at Beehives Cottage is certain to be a romantic, peaceful, and restorative break. The cottage is situated within the private grounds of Woodhall Estate in Hertfordshire. Outside the cottage's large walled garden (about one acre), you will find yourself in beautiful 18th century private parkland. Pheasants, squirrels and birds gambol through 500-year-old trees. There is plenty to do in the local area. There are many, varied, countryside walks right from the doorstep across Woodhall Park. St Albans, Cambridge and London are all within easy reach, but we think that the very best thing about staying at Beehives Cottage is the chance to relax in a beautiful setting, with an acre of private gardens, surrounded by trees, parkland, and wildlife. If you like bird spotting, squirrel, deer, or even sheep spotting, you will be happy here! The nearest village is Watton-at-Stone, a mile away, with a good bakery, a butcher and a deli. You'll also find The Bull, an excellent pub for local ales and hearty food. The historic market town of Hertford is 6 miles away, full of independent boutique shops to explore, real ale pubs and many dining options. We are a countryside retreat in Hertfordshire, but with easy road and rail access to London and the rest of the UK. There is ample car parking available at Beehives Cottage.
