Welcome to our family home. We are lucky to be just a short walk from the River Dart, down a footpath directly from the front door. From the river it's a short (10 min) walk to Totnes town centre. Independent shops, pubs & markets provide a great atmosphere. Totnes is a great launching pad for trips to the moor, beaches or the many attractions Devon has to offer. This home is 4 rooms on 4 levels - enter into the kitchen, then head downstairs for the living room opening onto a small grassy lawn. Upstairs are two bedrooms & bathroom. The terrace house is within a new-ish development, full of children and friendly neighbours. Please remember it is usually lived in home, not a hotel! Please don't expect perfection!
Thanks for your interest in booking our house this summer. Before we go any further, I wanted to check that you’re going to be happy with staying here and that your expectations are realistic. Our house is offered in the spirit of finding a practical way to off-set the cost of our family summer holiday whilst helping another family have an affordable holiday in the South Hams. It is not a proper holiday cottage set up primarily for that purpose! We love our house and our street; it’s a great, family-friendly community. We will do a decent declutter and thorough clean in preparation for your stay - as much as is reasonably possible. The house’s imperfections: the fridge has a cloth in it to collect water drips. One freezer drawer is broken. Whilst we can happily sleep 5+, there’s only parking for one vehicle. Spaces are available on street right outside. The mattresses, duvets and pillows and linen are all decent - they’re not all new! Please note the pictures - each bedroom has a bunk bed, so there is no 'master bedroom'.
There are 2 kyacks in back garden (one blow up for 2, one hard kyack for 1). There are also 2 bikes in the shed. Use of these is welcome, but would not be covered by our insurance so you would need to be happy to sign disclaimer about using it at your own risk. I would write an email to which you respond saying that you accept full responsibility for use of these items. Our impression over the years since normal home owners starting to rent their properties is that expectations are higher now, more professional standards are assumed. This is a reality check! If you want a proper holiday home, don’t book here, spend three times as much and go through somewhere like Classic Cottages. We are 4 bed, sleep 5+, child friendly, family house and you’re very welcome to enjoy all of it!
