There is some very nice walks around the harbour, good transport links. Plenty of places to visits and see. A visit to Babbacombe downs is a must, they have the best restaurants and bars. A great restaurant is the Babbacombe inn, the Masons Arms both are very reasonable priced. Lots of places to visit in Babbacombe too.
I like the shops, the views and the rides from Torquay Watersports - thoroughly recommend! There is a choice of transport and a variety of activities/places to visit/types of dining. I go for the Agatha Christie Festival but there are lots of other attractions.
Torquay is beautiful to look at, the harbour is lovely when sat outside a bar having drinks watching the sunset and the world go by. The meals out were great, the Lobster House restaurant is a must to visit the food there is amazing. I would recommend Torquay any day. The only thing about Torquay is its hilly not great for my legs.
The weather in Torquay is much better than in the Midlands. The sea scenery is absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from, especially in a small place like Babbacombe, where there are also some very handy shops within easy walking distance. The bus service to Torquay is ok, as long as it's not a busy time of the day. There are plenty of churches in Babbacombe. Torquay has some excellent shops and you can get a ferry to Brixham.
Its a lovely front, fish and chips, pier, gardens, harbour - worth doing a boat trip, we did one around 18.30- 20.30 and saw an amazing sunset :) I did feel that we'd done everything after 3 days if I'm honest
Torquay has lost a lot of its glamour but is still quite a pleasant place to make as a base. There are several restaurants but the town lacks any ‘upmarket’ places to eat . Nevertheless food in the restaurants is good quality and portions are more than adequate. Local fish and chips are delicious. Booking how we is advisable especially on a Thursday. During the week we were there the theatre was closed but seemed to have interesting things on during the summer. Travel in and around Torquay is easy.
