A secluded treasure, in a beautiful farmland setting.
Hosts were amazing - friendly and super helpful with recommendations about local attractions. We were made to feel very welcome. Fresh eggs, milk & other nice touches in the room upon our arrival were much appreciated. The accommodation was sparkling clean & well appointed.

Although there is a lot of new builds in the locale, these did not interfere with my stay as the Grange Court B&B is very secluded. There are various eateries in the vicinity with a Chinese buffet nearby on a Monday evening

The main reason for our stay was to visit our eldest daughter and her boyfriend who live in nearby Whipton, so location was perfect, a 2 - 3 minute drive or a 5 - 10 minute walk. The area was pleasant, peaceful and clean and not too far from any amenities or the city centre.

Easy travelling distance to Exeter Airport, M5, Exeter, West Point and would make a good base for touring the area. It is in a quiet location for those who like a good night sleep, but in easy driving distance of some goods pubs, we had a nice meal at the Jack In The Green.

Whimple is only a small village but is ideal for exploring south Devon, the village has a main line Railway station with links to Exeter and London, The village pub has a good selection of beers and the food is very good, due to the location, you would need a car to explore this area as there is very little in the way of footpaths in the small country lanes

The cabin was minimal but absolutely perfect for our needs.
We were provided with a few options to either take a short walk or drive to a few local pubs that served delicious food.

Exeter was a very pleasant and interesting city.
Exeter was a very pleasant and interesting city. The Cathedral, restaurants, the medieval underground water tunnels and historical buildings were great. The city walls walk was very frustrating. We only found 2 of the supposed 9 tourist signs and it was very poorly signed.
The Ivy restaurant was fantastic. The food and staff were excellent.

Staying at Bowhayes Farm was the best decision for our bank holiday weekend. We felt immensely looked after by the host Howard, had plenty of wood for our fires and received some great recommendations for walks and places to eat. The pitch, surrounded by an apple tree orchard, was so tranquil, the bathroom was immaculate and there even was a shower with multiple shower heads! This was without doubt the best Devon getaway we’ve ever had, and much of this was due to the genuine interest, warmth and care from the owners of the farm. Thank you for our lovely stay, we will definitely be back.

A tricky place to stay if you need to eat out; the nearest restaurants are just too far to walk comfortably (and were all booked solid when I was there- Covid issues, I had overlooked the problem). However there is nice walking not too far away (by car). Very convenient for the airport but with no airport noise.
