Earnley is a little hamlet just to the east of the famous beaches at Wittering with their huge stretches of sand and an absolute Mecca for wind and kite surfers. There are beautiful walks at the nearby nature reserve and along the local beaches. The friendly and lively East Wittering village is just a sort distance with a fantastic mix of independent cafes and restaurants and even boasts two independent butchers and a greengrocers. Chichester is just a short drive to the north and has a mix of high street shopping and lovely independent shops, cafes and restaurants. For the real foodies an evening at Purchases is an absolute must! There are lovely walks around the Roman walls and The Bishops Gardens are free to visit and a tranquil oasis in the middle of town, especially on a hot and sunny day. The Weald and Downland Museum is just a short drive or bus ride to the north and is home to the famous BBC1 Repair Shop. Goodwood is also very close by and hosts the world famous Festival of Speed and The Revival. There are direct train and bus routes from Chichester to Portsmouth in the west and Brighton to the east. Portsmouth is a great day out with The Historic Dockyard and outlet shopping at GunWharf Quays, all the family will be entertained.
