The village of Evershot (5.5 miles) boasts a local village shop and post office, bakery, an award winning pub, The Acorn and an outstanding restaurant, The Summer Lodge or you could try The Winyards Gap Inn at Chedington, just 2.6 miles away. Just a short drive away you will find yourself in Melbury Park, a beautiful deer park with a stunning Grade I listed Manor house and charming gardens. A short drive away you will discover the town of Dorchester (9 miles) which is host to a wealth of shops, cafes and restaurants as well as an abundance of tourist attractions including the Dorset County Museum, home to the Thomas Hardy archive and collection. Sutton Bingham Reservoir is just four miles away and is set in rolling hills on the Somerset/Dorset border offering a range of facilities for all the family, including a children’s play area, picnic area, wildlife park, angling and sailing.
