Great views of the Cambrian coastline and the Llyn Peninsula beyond are afforded from the private courtyard and small lawned area right in front of the cottage. A neighbouring small outhouse provides plenty of storage for bikes and kayaks etc as the provided BBQ. Llanbedr is the nearest village about a mile to the north. There are a couple of pubs here as well as a cafe and small grocery store. More choice is offered if you travel a little further up the coast to Harlech. The famous castle dominates this pretty little town and is an obvious draw for many guests. About 5 miles to the south, Barmouth is that quintessential Victorian seaside town with a fantastic mix of smiling kids, fish and chips and acres of clean sandy beach. These days, the huge array of adventure activities on offer in the area draws just as many people as the beautiful sandy coastline. Everything from mountain biking, zip lining, gorge walking and rock climbing are all available. Although a quiet walk in the mountains behind the farmhouse is still my favourite.
