This handsome Lakeland home takes a fantastic location above Bowness village backing onto National trust land and commanding superb fell and lake views. Recently refurbished and with ample living space for family or friends, the interior is modern and comfortable. It’s only a 5 minute walk away from the lively Bowness high street and the fun-filled shores of Lake Windermere. Brantfield Cottage is an excellent choice for a stress-free holiday, with lots of fun and exciting activities close by.

We bought our cottage in Bowness in 2021 and have been working hard to improve it to make sure your stay is lovely! Parking is available for 1 car only on the road directly opposite Brantfield Cottage. Extra vehicles must be parked down the hill in the centre of town. There are lots of things to do in the locality. Here are just some suggestions: The World of Beatrix Potter Probably the most popular attraction in the town is the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, which brings the characters of the childhood books to life. While it’s a great day out for the kids, adults will enjoy learning about the real-life history of Beatrix Potter, who spent much of her life in the local area. Blackwell, The Arts & Crafts House Overlooking the lake, this large Grade I listed house is one of the best examples of domestic architecture in the UK, with almost all of its original features still intact. Windermere Lake Cruises Offering trips up to Ambleside and Lakeside, Windermere Lake Cruises is a hugely popular attraction offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountain scenery, as well as the many islands and bays of the lake. Take to the water to truly experience Windermere. The many different options and tickets allow you to hop off, walk back or just sit back and watch the mountains, woodlands and islands unfold before you. Windermere Canoe Kayak and Bike Hire Why not rent out your own canoe or kayak? With specialised instructors to help get you going, or even come out with you on a guided tour, it doesn’t matter if you’ve never tried it before. Why not head to one of the many islands in the middle of the lake? They also offer bike hire if you’d rather stick to dry land, or even stand-up paddleboarding too! Walking There are so many lovely walks to do in the local area, including lots right outside the doorstep of the cottage as it is located next to the access to the Dales Way where you can walk up Brant Fell or Post Knott. Go Shopping! It's a great place to pick up local produce or gifts! Eat & drink! There are so many places within walking distance of the cottage!
