Winchelsea is a medieval, small Cinque Port town. Comprising of ancient, grid layout around a central church, Winchelsea is easy to explore. There is a lovely and useful town shop selling all sorts of foods and supplies and a country pub The New Inn for a drink. It’s proximity to some of the most beautiful countryside and most stunning beaches (Winchelsea, Camber, Pett Level, Dungeness and Rye Harbour) make Winchelsea a perfect holiday destination. Nearby Rye boasts an eventful calendar all-year round. Famous annual events include Rye jazz festival, wild boar week, scallop week, Rye bonfire, Christmas markets and more. Rye has a variety of independent shops, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. You can walk across Winchelsea fairly quickly and there are many walking and cycling routes over the Romney Marshes, Rye Harbour and the beaches at Camber or Rye. Free street parking is generally available outside the property and nearby streets.
