The location was excellent for getting around, the breakfast were outstanding and our host was very very friendly and helpful. We will tell this location to all our friends and family. It was a wonderful stay.

The couple running the Guest House are complete Angels! We became ill during our visit and were unable to leave the room. Gus brought up our breakfast every day and they made us dinner as well. The guest house is extremely beautiful and we definitely landed in a heavenly place!! We have travelled the world and stayed in many 5 * places and none compare to this establishment for comfort, convenience and satisfaction! On a 5 star system, the Highlander Guest House is a 10 star or higher.

This was a lovely place for a relaxing weekend away. Perfect hosts, beautiful B&B. Gus and Sherry are amazing hosts and made our stay very enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic food and a beautiful room. Didn’t want to leave. Would return in a heartbeat.

From the start we were welcomed by Gus. Shown to our room, at our leisure we joined him for a coffee to discuss best places to eat for dinner. Our room was immaculate, cosy and extremely comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. We faced beautiful gardens to the rear. We had tea and coffee facilities and lovely wee extras, Chocolates and bottles of water. Small fridge in room also. Bathroom was lovely with a spacious shower, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner for use also. You can Bluetooth your music through mirror in bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and Gus couldn’t be more obliging. Homemade Granola from Sherry was amazing and I don’t usually eat granola. I left with recipe. On second day we returned to our room and a small package was left with home baked pecan slices. We were contacted before arrival to ask if we had any dietary requirements.

Located close enough to walk to shops and ferry. Room was beautifully furnished, bed was extremely comfortable and back garden view was lovely. Two seats and table in room allowing space to sit. Coffee maker, kettle and small fridge with milk and wine located in room. Biscuits and cakes provided each day which were a delight. Gus was extremely welcoming and happy to share his local knowledge and to make recommendations for evening meals and places to visit. He was interested in his guests and was happy to accommodate any requests if possible. Gus and Sherrie even offered us a lift back to the B&B when they met us out walking. Extremely happy with our stay at The Highlander and hoping to return again.

Fantastic wee gem on the Isle of Bute! Gus and Sheree are amazing hosts who made our stay memorable from the welcome gifts to the beautiful breakfast and lunch they packed for us before we left. Attention to detail was as good as any fine hotel we have stayed in, but with the added bonus of the personal touch! We highly recommend the Highlander House
