Hello lovely guests!
A very warm welcome from us to Kintyre Caravan. Thank you so much for checking out our listing, we really appreciate it. We are new to this whole hosting business, but we are confident that you will enjoy your stay with us in our cosy little caravan. It has everything you need and the views are nothing short of incredible!
We moved as a family to the Isle of Skye in August 2023 to start a new life with our 2 young children. We absolutely love it here, and truly believe it is the best thing we ever did. We hope you love it as much as we do!
When you arrive at the property, there will most likely always be myself or my Husband in, as we both work opposite shifts to look after our kids. So we will personally meet and greet you, give you the keys and answer any questions you might have. If on the rare occasion we are not in to greet you, we will arrange for the key to be left in a safe place.
There is a welcome pack in the caravan for you to read through, but seriously, if there is anything you need, just give us a knock as we are only next door.
The caravan sits adjacent to our house, and is set within the garden grounds. So during the hot days, our 2 children and Border collie may be out in the garden playing, but we will try and keep this to a minimum. Hopefully you like kids and dogs :)
So, if all that sounds fun to you then please feel free to book away!
Best wishes from the Connop family xxxxx
Our neighbourhood is absolutely stunning! The area is rural, surrounded by sea, mountains, beach and animals. Braes beach is just a short walk from the property, which on most days is empty, so it's almost like having your own private beach! The beach is sheltered and sandy, with a shallow slope into the sea, perfect for a dip if you can brave the cold water :)
In Braes, there is the An Aird and Coille losal walk. These short walks are set in the heart of the lovely Braes area. Coille losal climbs up through native woodland to visit a waterfall, before a more open return, giving great views across the Sound of Raasay and Ben Tianavaig.
The Isle of Raasay is in full view of the property, whereby the Raasay ferry can be seen numerous times a day crossing the Sea to reach the Island. The ferry can be caught from Sconser, and runs all day until late at night. If you are really lucky, you may even spot the odd seal or dolphin!
Although no local shops are available, Braes is just a short drive to Portree, where all points of interest can be found.
The neighbourhood is simply beautiful, and on clear days, the views can be seen for miles.
