Lily Cottage is an enchanting, thatched cottage in the picture-perfect Cotswold village of Great Tew. This romantic bolthole is a perfect hideaway for 2, although can sleep 3 in 2 bedrooms. The cosy living room is warmed by a wood burner, perfect for winter evenings, whilst to the rear, there’s a pretty, terraced, cottage garden. Just steps from the garden gate are walks around the Great Tew Estate, a 16th-century pub, and a delightful village café. ‘Chippy’ or Chipping Norton is just 6 miles away. On the ground floor, there’s a cosy living room with a log burner set into a large stone fireplace and a galley kitchen. On the first floor, there are two charming bedrooms, a pretty single room overlooking the beautiful parkland of the Great Tew Estate and a double room with views over the rear garden, there’s also a compact and bijou shower room. The small front garden is enclosed by a clipped box hedge and a wooden gate leads to the front door. Beyond the hedge lies the emerald-green expanse of the Great Tew Estate. There is residents parking opposite on a first-come/first-served basis and further parking spaces behind the row of cottages (access via the small track on the right before the first cottage in the row). The stairs are quite steep with a rope handrail The rear garden is terraced with steps leading from the back door There is no dining table, please use the large wooden tray provided if using the ottoman. A babe-in-arms is welcome however there is no travel cot, high chair or stair gate at the cottage. If bringing a travel cot the only space is in the single bedroom however the bed would not then be accessible. One well-behaved dog is accepted, fees apply. This property is only suitable for small/ medium dogs.

This lovely cottage lies in an idyllic village setting within the Great Tew Estate, which has some wonderful walks to enjoy. The historic Falkland Arms pub is less than a minute’s stroll from the front door as is the exceptional village café, Quince and Clover. Soho Farmhouse is just a 4-minute drive and the vibrant market town of Chipping Norton, with its varied choice of independent shops, restaurants and pubs, is 6 miles away. Supermarkets and Shopping: The nearest place to do a food shop is Chipping Norton (6 miles) where you will find a great choice of national and independent stores, including a well-stocked Coop, M&S Food Store and Aldi. Wykham Park Farm (7.5 miles) is a fabulous farm shop offering an abundance of local produce and a cheese deli. Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm Shop is 8 miles away.
