Middle Cottage sits in the village of tranquil Cornworthy. The refurbished inn is close to hand, and it’s walking distance to two brilliant waterside pubs.

Quaint and quiet but homely and welcoming - Cornworthy is a village for all seasons. Perfect for the nearby hiking trails, as the winding rural roads reveal the haunting ruins of the ancient Cornworthy Priory. Or settle down to a hearty meal by the fireside at the popular Hunters Lodge Inn. Nearby, the hamlet of Tuckenhay is one of Devon's hidden treasures. From 16th-century settlement to an industrial Victorian era, today Tuckenhay draws those in the know for its rolling countryside, abundant wildlife, outdoor pursuits - and two of Devon's finest inns. Down the Harbourne estuary and onto the River Dart, you'll find the village of Dittisham. It really is a Devon gem. Nestled a few miles upstream from Dartmouth, this unspoiled and tranquil village is perfect for a relaxing riverside break and really makes the most of its waterside location - from watersports to fishing and leisurely river rides are on your doorstep. Dittisham is also superbly connected by river transport to the Dart Valley’s must-see villages, towns, and attractions. Year-round frequent ferries take you to the historic port of Dartmouth, picturesque Kingswear, and - just across the river on the opposite bank - a quick boat trip takes you to Agatha Christie’s resplendent Greenway holiday home and gardens, now cared for by the National Trust, and an idyllic day out.
