Situated in the quaint fishing village of Beer, which is located on the scenic Jurassic coast, Greymouth Cottage is a relaxing seaside retreat. Greymouth cottage is decorated and furnished in a contemporary style and is perfect for a couples’ getaway. Dating back to the 1800's and formerly part of the village bakery, the original hooks for the bakers' bread cooling trays have been retained and incorporated into a modern light fitting. The cottage has all essential mod-cons for a comfortable stay. Features include a cosy log burner, a large luxury bathroom, king size bed with premium mattress and bed linen, usb plug sockets, free wifi and parking for one small to medium sized car. The cottage itself is conveniently located in the centre of Beer, right next to Beer Village Stores at the top of the main high street (Fore Street), just 3 minutes walk to the beach. Please note that the bedroom window aligns with the front of the village store which receives deliveries early each morning and the main bus stop is also directly outside the cottage. Because of this there is potential for noise, especially around school bus times. The seagulls can also be quite chatty when the sun rises!
Conveniently, the bus stop is outside the property and offers a regular service to towns including Seaton, Sidmouth, Axminster and Lyme Regis. Once a day return service to Exeter. Beer is a working fishing village, so part of the beach is a constant hive of activity. The main street offers a few independent shops, two galleries, restaurants, a tea room, fish and chip takeaway and a couple of pubs. Beer is part of the South West Coastal Path, so during your stay there will be plenty of opportunity to spend time walking and enjoying the idyllic countryside. The walk from Beer to Branscombe over the Beer Head cliff is particularly scenic and offers far reaching stunning views.
