Sherborne is a friendly market town steeped in history.  The beautiful surrounding countryside has many walks and places for you to explore with local National Trust properties including Montecute House, Barrington Court, Stourhead, Kingston Lacy and Mapperton House. The area is very much Thomas Hardy's Wessex.  Other local attractions include Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton, Tank Museum at Bovington, and the wonderful Jurassic coastline with Lyme Regis and Weymouth approx 60 mins away.
