My Name is Frances and I have lived and worked all my life in Coniston I have seen lots of changes in and around the lake district but feel Coniston has still retained a little bit of village life where you can relax and enjoy the scenery, a wonderful place to come relax and re charge your batteries some days walking without meeting a soul on the many walks that surround the Village you can hire a boat on Coniston Lake maybe take a picnic and spend the days exploring the lake in full Tarn Hows is a lovely walk from the village , the possibilities are endless and you will have a warm comfy cottage in No4 to return too we are sure you will not be disappointed in your choice

No 4 Low House is a comfy 3 bedroom cottage set just on the outskirts of Coniston village, but within walking distance of all amenities. Inside you have a large kitchen big enough to all sit round the table and enjoy a hearty meal just off the cosy lounge with a lovely roaring fireplace for those cosy winter evenings. plenty of space to all spread out with 3 bedrooms upstairs as well we have been successfully renting No4 for a number of years and have many guests who return year after year , outside there is parking for 2 cars and a patio area to sit and relax in the summer we are sure you will return from your holidays relaxed and ready to face the world again

Coniston is one of the quieter lake district village but you are only 7 miles from the hussle and bustle of Ambleside, the fabulous beaches the west coast Silecroft, St bees and if your feeling adventurous the Hardnott and Rhinos passes not for the faint hearted though !! and you drop down in to the fabulous Langdale Valley Keswick and Ullswater only an hours drive away. The iconic Gondola travels on the lake everyday (weather permitting) the home of John Ruskin Brantwood is one of the stops you can make, we also have a wonderful museum about Ruskin, a history of Coniston the mines etc and the story of Donald Campbell an ideal stop on a rainy day ( we do get a few in the lakes !!) all in all you will have plenty of things to fill your days or maybe just come and relax
